The Sisters of Our Lady of Sion (Australia) and the Council of Christians and Jews (Victoria) invite you to join us for the Sr Rosalie Hanley NDS Conversation featuring Dr Emmanuel Nathan (ACU) and Dr Simon Holloway (Melbourne Holocaust Museum) on the topic of “Nostra Aetate in our times (2025): An invitation to encounter.” With a special introduction by Sr Mary Reaburn NDS. 2025 marks the 60th anniversary of this groundbreaking Vatican II document, originally intended to be a statement about the Catholic Church’s relationship with Judaism; its scope, however, broadened to include Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism. Nostra Aetate invited Catholics to consider their relationship with people from other faith traditions. What does Nostra Aetate offer us today? How does it speak to our times? How does it invite us to a place of encounter with people of faith and with people with no religious affiliation? The event will take place in Caulfield on Sunday, 19 October (2.00 – 4:15 pm).
